Whip at Myspace

Whip started with the two original members Jonny and Sturt. Their passion burnt for short and brutal grind/thrash metal songs with a punk drive. The project was laid to rest in 2001 when Jonny moved out of Oslo. Sturt started searching for new sick souls to play with in Whip.

In the beginning of 2004 Grrr came from Australia to Norway to play some evil music, and shortly after his arrival, joined Sturt in the madness of Whip. The band now had two members for guitars and vocals, but had a hard time finding the right drummer and bassplayer. One year after Grrr joined, Ygg bacame the drummer, and AndyHotPants joined shortly after on bass. The band then worked on new songs, updated old ones and finished the concept of the new Whip.

Two successful gigs were done with that line-up before Sturt almost lost his little finger in December 2005. Because of that AndyHotPants had to leave the band. The three remaining members were desperately trying to find a new fit bassplayer, and by hellish luck found Kai in February 2006. The band was back in full line-up and stronger than ever!

Three weeks after Kai joined, they had their first gig with him, and could say with black metal in their hearts that the right bassplayer was in the band.

Several gigs was done in Oslo with that line-up...

In December 2006 Whip parted with Ygg. A short time after, Jhonny Jawless did a couple of rehearsal with Whip before a short but intense gig! The music turned out more hellish than ever! Mr. Jawless was instantly asked to join the band and is now the new drummer of Whip!

Today the band's music is scrap metal. Mostly based on thrash, black metal, crust and grindcore.

Whip is using time to plan tours, look through LP's, search for more beer and make new deadly metal.

Others about Whip:

FINALLY something fresh from Norway instead of the drab "bm" we often see here - WHIP, playing the same style i did back in the day (86/87), namely THRASCORE - only i sucked but these guys have HEAPS of experience with raw riffs based around THRASH and DIE HARD ATTITUDE. UH! one of the most promising live bands in Norway now for sure, these maniacs are here for you to worship - RAW and MANIACAL like GOATS BALLS on RAW BREAD. enjoy.

Whip is ugly and dirty! Reminds me of a disease! Fuckin' necropervo!
"Nattefrost, Carpathian Forest"

Whip live is a bloody experience, literally speaking. Probably one of Oslo's most extreme bands. A mix of thrash, black metal and punk. An absolute recommendation for others doing booking!

9 out of 10 domistic housewives should listen to Whip while they clean the house. It is harder than justice! I really like Whip. I like to say their name all the time. Whip! Whip! Whip!
